I love blogging, but found myself in a tough spot when I realized the only blog I had was:
- Limited in scope of content
- Tied to my job
- Generally old news
- Not much fun to write on
- Not getting any traffic
5 is generally inconsequential/unimportant for a fun, personal blog like this one, but for a blog that is all business its sad. 1, 2, 3 and 4 all suck unless you really know what you’re doing. I was trying to be all web 2.0 dynamo (I make sites for newspapers) and blog about what is going on in my industry, but that requires a borderline obsessive level of attention to detail that I simply don’t have or even aspire to have just yet. I like watching “What Not To Wear” and playing volleyball on Wednesdays and going to car club events. In short, I’m young and a hobbyist. Plenty of time for job obsession later in life.
